The great tragedy of both the Thatcher and Blair Governments was that they were not revolutionary enough, when they had their dominant positions. Thatcher is mainly remembered for taking on the unions, especially the miners and Blair for Iraq.
I recently read a book of Churchill quotations and one of many that stuck with me was “I see merits in the arguments of the left and of the right. It is the arguments of the centre that confuse me.” W S Churchill
